About Us

North South Foundation is a volunteer driven non-profit organization established in Illinois in 1989.

Our Mission is to:

  • Provide educational scholarships and resources to needy children.
  • Empower every child to excel in education and be an empathetic holistic leader.
  • Provide a platform for volunteers to support the community.

We work towards our mission by providing a broad range of programs:

The India Scholarships Program is designed to encourage excellence among underprivileged children in India who excel academically but need financial assistance to attend college. You can read more about this program here .

Academic Contests are organized to encourage academic excellence among children in grades K-12. The Spelling, Vocabulary, Math, Science, Geography, History, Essay Writing, Public Speaking and Brain Bees are conducted annually in two stages. Children initially participate in Regional Contests conducted at more than 90 chapters across the US and online. Winners of these contests are invited to the National Finals. National top ranks are awarded scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $250, redeemable in the winners’ freshman year of college. You can read more about our contests here .

Coaching Programs offer instructor led online coaching classes in Math, SAT/ACT, Science, Geography, Computer Programming, Vedic Math, Universal Values, and Life Skills (Confidence Building). Coaching is provided in each subject at different grade levels allowing students the flexibility to enroll in classes based on their skill level. The goal is to enrich student learning beyond what is offered in school. You can read more about coaching programs here .

The Panacea Challenge . is designed to encourage self-directed learning and creativity through essay, video and poster submissions. The goal is to have students with various passions engage with a topic via their personal strengths/areas of interest. Submissions are judged based on creativity, clarity, evidence based research and depth of analysis. You can read more about Panacea Challenge here.

Workshops are designed to encourage and prepare children to take part in regional contests as well as various national contests such as National Geographic Bee, Scripps Spelling Bee and MATHCOUNTS. The workshops include a review of the contest rules, tips to prepare for the competitions, fun exercises, practice mock bees, and more. You can read more about workshops here.
