About the Speakers: 

Dr. Harneet Walia, M.D.

Dr. Harneet Walia, is an Associate Professor in the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University where she subspecializes in diagnoses and treatment of complex sleep disorders. She is the Medical Director of Continuous Improvement in Neurological Institute. She is a Staff at the Center for Sleep Disorders in the Neurological Institute, Cleveland Clinic. She is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and has additional board certification in Sleep Medicine. Dr. Walia received her MD degree from the Kasturba Medical College, India. Dr. Walia''s research focuses on the association of obstructive sleep apnea and cardiovascular disorders. Dr. Walia has given numerous presentations on the topics related to sleep disorders regionally, nationally and internationally

Dr. Vaishal Shah, M.D.

Dr. Vaishal Shah currently serves as an associate staff physician and Director of pediatric sleep program at the Cleveland Clinic Sleep Disorders Center and Pediatric Institute. He specializes in pediatric and adult sleep disorders and pediatric obesity management. Dr. Shah received M.B.B.S. degree from N.H.L. Municipal Medical College in India, followed by Masters in Public Health degree from Cleveland State University.  He has completed residency and fellowship training in sleep medicine at Cleveland Clinic and subsequently board certification in pediatrics as well as sleep medicine. His background has enabled him to pursue his research interest of sleep disorders in obese children, specifically obstructive sleep apnea, evaluating the interplay of related co-morbidities and examining the impact of treatment on clinical outcomes.
